Mr Justice Peter Kelly was appointed as a judge of the High Court in 1996. He was appointed as a judge of the Court of Appeal in 2014 and then as President of the High Court in 2015. He retired in June 2020. Apart from presiding over many other busy court lists during his judicial career, Mr Justice Kelly oversaw the establishment and was the first judge in charge of the Commercial List of the High Court. Mr Justice Kelly chaired the Review of the Administration of Civil Justice which reported in October 2020. He was elected as a Bencher of the King’s Inns and a Master of the Bench of the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple.
